GIVING BACK
ON #GIVINGTUESDAY

GIVING BACK

“Most people know about Black Friday and Cyber Monday… Now GivingTuesday is coming to Canada on November 28, 2017.

It is a new Canadian movement for giving and volunteering, taking place each year after Cyber Monday. The ‘Opening day of the giving season,’ it is a day where charities, companies and individuals join together to share commitments, rally for favourite causes and think about others.

We have two days that are good for the economy. Now we have a day that is good for the community too.” ~ givingtuesday.ca

As a registered charity that relies on the generosity of donors to fulfill its mandate, NLT is often asking for your support. This year, we are committed to giving back to our community as well.

For each $50 donation to NLT’s GivingTuesday campaign, we will offer a complimentary ticket in your name to an arts student from Strathcona High School to attend “Do This in Memory of Me.”

NLT has a strong history of, and commitment to encouraging emerging artists; Strathcona High School is well-known throughout Edmonton for the quality of its arts programming and education. This donation of tickets to Strathcona High School will reduce a financial barrier for youth; providing them an opportunity to see a live theatrical production created by two professional Edmonton theatre companies (Northern Light Theatre and L’UniTheatre), written by Edmonton playwright Cat Walsh, and performed by local professional actors with design elements created by local Edmonton designers.

Our goal is to send 50 students to the show with a goal of $2,500.00 for this campaign. Will you play a part by making a donation of $50 this GivingTuesday?

Donations can be made through NLT’s website by clicking here, by calling the office at 780-471-1586, or through Canada Helps. All donations will receive a charitable tax-receipt.
