Only Three More Shows!

by Barbara Blumenthal-Ehrlich
October 28- November 6, 2016 (Preview October 27)
PCL Studio in the ATB Financial Arts Barns (10330 84 Avenue)

“I’ll be honest. I’m doing well. Really well. But I’m not gonna pay one cent for her God damn funeral. Call the city. They’ll come, take the body, dump it in the ground before lunch. No charge.”

For Dirdra and Janice, Mom’s dead and it’s a great day. There’s going to be a celebration, and hopefully nothing will go flying out the window – including one of them. A viciously comic and tense fifteen-year reunion between two sisters on the day of their mother’s unforgettable death. Featuring Louise Lambert and Arielle Rombough.   World premiere.

Stylish, Intense, Commanding, Provocative

Read What the Reviewers Have to Say about SISTER SISTER

…this stylish and judiciously calibrated production shapes the experience of the play as declension from very stylized clown performances into characters, with (some) dimensions and individuality…Lambert puts her considerable command of refinements in comic timing to very good use. And Rombough, as the more brittle and panicky sister, flails around her at high speed. Their chemistry is what makes Sister Sister work.”

"What an acting duel these two fine actresses give us –dipping, with probing intensity"

“Their blithe retorts to one another’s half-truths and attempts at one-upmanship flit off their tongues. It creates a hypnotic cadence that steadily shifts with the dialogue and accelerates to shocking reveals, double takes, and story beats dozens of times throughout the 75-minute, one-act show.”
