Northern Light Theatre and Maralyn Ryan Presents the Fifth Annual Performance Camps for Young People

Once again, the imagination and creativity of children will thrive at The Third Space as Northern Light Theatre gears up for the fifth annual Performance Camps for Young People. Edmonton youth will be enchanted and enlightened as they explore this year’s theme, Beauty and the Beast, August 5-8 & August 11-22, 2008.

Accomplished actor, director and arts educator, Maralyn Ryan, will return as Camp Director to guide the troupe of young aspiring performers through their theatrical journey. The students aside from being given the opportunity to explore singing, acting and movement, perform a piece of theatre that Maralyn adapts according to a significant moment in history allowing the children to playfully explore our past, discover how it has affected the present, and question our direction towards the future.  This past year’s performance The Wizard of Oz, introduced many people to Dorothy McDonald, a curious and strong minded young girl who overcame fierce obstacles in her life to become the formidable first female Chief of Fort McKay. In this exhilarating adaption, an historical life is discovered and celebrated.

Space is limited, so register early!
