FAQ

How do I get to NLT?

NLT has relocated to the bustling community of Old Strathcona and is surrounded by bakeries, shops, restaurants and- of course- theatres. We are located on the sunny second floor of the Weldon Building (above Good Earth Foods) on the corner of 89th Avenue and 99th Street. You can enter from street level on 99th Street and climb the stairs to the second floor. We are in suite #201- the first door on your right. Our office door is always open and we welcome visitors! Limited guest parking is available behind the building.

Where do you perform?

This season our performances are taking place in two different theatres.  Bitches & Money 1878 and Contractions will be performed at the PCL Studio in the ATB Financial Arts Barns (0330-84 Avenue, Edmonton).  Mercy of a Storm will be performed at L'UniThéâtre in La Cité Francophone (8627 Rue Marie-Anne Gaboury, Edmonton).

How can I donate?

As a not-for-profit society, Northern Light Theatre relies on funding from the community.  We are always grateful for any size of donation.  All donations are tax-deductible.  You can make a donation to Northern Light Theatre by mail, in person, or over the phone or fax (see contact information above). You can also make a donation online through Canada Helps.

How can I volunteer?

Northern Light Theatre relies on volunteers for the following positions:

  1. Bingo Fundraisers
  2. Casino Fundraisers
  3. Bartending
  4. Ushering
  5. Board Membership

We are also always interested in meeting potential board members.  The Board of Directors meets monthly,
so give us a call if you are interested in attending our next scheduled Board Meeting and earning a place among our ranks.

How can I audition?

All theatre artists (not just actors) are encouraged to send in headshots and resumes throughout the year, as we keep updated information on many actors, playwrights, stage managers and directors throughout the city, province and country. We hold yearly auditions for actors in the spring (usually in May). Only artists that we have not yet met, or who have had an extensive improvement in their training or capabilities since their last audition with us, are asked to attend our annual auditions.  Contact us, and we will add your contact information to our list of auditionees and let you know when our next auditions are being held.
